Hi NSW Parents,

NSW Department of Education has unilaterally (under political and or economical pressures) decided to reopen the schools for all students. Please read the link below:

Key things to note are:

• School students do not need to follow strict adult physical distancing guidelines, but should follow good hygiene practices like: - regularly washing hands
  - avoiding sharing drinks or food
  - coughing or sneezing into your elbow, or a tissue which should be  discarded immediately

Can NSW DET please advise how do we explain this to kids in K-2, who struggle to follow these easy, simple instructions at home with full time supervision. How are they going to follow these with supervision of 1:20 ratio.

• Your school has received supplies of soap, hand sanitiser, toilet paper, paper towels, disinfectant wipes and personal protective equipment. The graphics indicates the schools have received 2500lt of hand wash and 4800 bottles of Surface spray

With 3136 Schools in NSW, each school received 1.5lt of Surface spray and 0.8lt of hand wash. 

With so much not known about this virus and it's side affects on children. Let the parents make an informed decision if they want the kids to to be a guinea pig or not.

We expect NSW DET to let parents exercise their right, have a choice to decide, to either send their kids to school or to continue in the online classroom.
