This petition is for Chris Roll and his family

 Lake Park School District 108 needs to take a stand, together, and fix the wrongs that have persisted – by apologizing to Chris Roll publicly, and admitting that the mistakes made to protect the students are consistent across the organization, and NOT focused on Chris Roll and the football team.

 The Superintendent and BOE members (the ones who are not directly part of the investigation) must show some leadership and work to re-evaluate the current system and provide a safer environment for our students, our community and Lake Park’s future.

 The problems brought to light by the suspension of Chris Roll and imposition of “administrative leave” of the Athletic Director and Principal highlight the fact that policies and procedures at Lake Park were not enforced by any individuals. It is not right to blame one person for the faults of many, including the lack of ownership the Administration clearly took in enforcing these policies. Way too many LPHS volunteers have come forward to say that they were not vetted - why focus on ONE person not being vetted when that number is in the hundreds and the lack of procedure runs across sports and activities?

 Chris Roll is a man, coach and teacher of impeccable character, as evidenced by the hundreds of individuals who have shown up to support him at the BOE meetings. The time and sacrifices Chris Roll has made for our community are remarkable and immeasurable. His family has been a part of this community for over 50 years and during that time they have been volunteers, teachers and coaches, friends and neighbors. Chris is a good man, an educator first, a coach and a friend and he is always working to teach our youth important life lessons. 

 It's a simple solution. The school board should realize it acted too swiftly and hastily with its decision to suspend Coach Chris Roll, especially on the morning of the last Football game of the season, and own up to the fact that they unfairly targeted him for their mistakes. This was completely unwarranted and not justified and was defamatory to Chris. The pain you are causing to this man- who has given so much to Lake Park and its community- is unimaginable.

 Please put an end to this suspension immediately and reinstate Chris Roll as the head varsity Football Coach at Lake Park. Apologize to Chris Roll, his family and let’s move forward and learn from this unfortunate time. The Lake Park students and this community cannot afford to lose Coach Chris Roll.
