South Africans experience extreme mental health trauma - from mismanaged Covid 19 and a broken, dysfunctional health care system, to horrific socio-economic inequality, abusive corruption, and medico-political dictatorship.

1. There is a treatment for Covid 19 that is both preventative and therapeutic, but SAHPRA (South African Health Products Regulatory Authority) banned the use of Ivermectin, and criminalized doctors and pharmacists, using it to save lives.

8. There is a section 21 application (of the Medicine and Related Substances Act) that can be (and was) made to authorize Ivermectin. If approved, approval lasts only for 6 months at a time. Here’s how it works, in theory. www.sahpra.org.za/unregisteredproducts
9. India and other countries lead by dispensing Ivermectin with Zinc and Doxycycline tablets, directly to the people. Other counries have known about Ivermectin from at least April last year. Why did we not know, or was it hidden?
10. Meanwhile, Mediclinic, while going to great lengths to toe the (inhumane, and unconstitutional) SAHPRA and DOH line, will make Ivermectin available. But, like housing and food, it won’t reach everyone. Why? Because there’s a catch, or 3:
- Doctors must apply on a case by case basis (an administrative nightmare for our exhausted doctors),
- It can take 10 - 14 days for approval (meanwhile, more suffering and death. Especially for people who don't have medical aid, can’t afford to go to a doctor, or can’t access an overburdened clinic or hospital),
- They say it can cost upwards of R9000, for this R10 - R100 lifesaving medicine. Who benefits from this racketeering health monopoly tactic? Not us, the 90%.

WE THE PEOPLE DEMAND
The Ivermectin Rollout Campaign will require campaigning, courts, and protest, as we expect government resistance and corporate fear-mongering. In January, SAHPRA, DOH and others created deliberately impossible conditions for Ivermectin access and rollout. We have a constitutional right to health. We therefore demand:

A. The majority of people cannot afford to go to doctors. Ivermectin should therefore be immediately available, at no cost, to South African residents through hospitals, clinics, mobile clinics, pharmacies, and community centres with retired nurses.
B. Guidelines must be provided by health care workers, community workers, information flyers, websites, media, and social media information platforms.
C. The money that is saved must be used to hire the 40 000 health care workers whose positions were frozen, and to strengthen health care system infrastructure.
D. SAHPRA and related bodies must be disbanded and replaced by HCWs who prove they care about the people, and who will consult with public representatives.

E. Social media platforms like Facebook must stop violating our right to freedom of expression and right to health by censoring posts and restricting IVM supporters.

Note: Due to the devastation we face daily, it is the view that anyone who directly or indirectly blocks Ivermectin should be charged or sued in their representative and personal capacities, for loss of life, sickness, disabilities, psychological trauma, and expenses, including medical and loss of income (real and potential).
