This petition is on Singapore hosting the World Economic Forum in 2021 and why Singapore should not be doing so, with the WEF's "Great Reset" in view, which the WEF hopes to roll out and enforce on a global scale.

1. The "Great Reset" and the Green Policy - the WEF has made it clear that this would involve decarbonising the energy sector[1][2], which would cause many working in Jurong Island to lose their jobs, increase living costs and hurt our airline industry.

2. Stakeholder capitalism [3][4] - Firstly, it would model the global economy similar to that of Communist China with the world's economy a global state controlled one, with environmental and social goals complement to standard financial metrics [6]. Such intrusive planning of economies could lead to potential repercussions that F.A.Hayek warned against in his work "The Road to Serfdom". Such a system would also mean the possible penalisation of faith-run businesses for making decisions of conscience given the use of "social justice" as a metric of measurement for development.

The "stakeholder capitalism" envisioned by the WEF would require issues such as “climate change”, “water management” and “environmental stewardship”, just to name a few, as bottom lines, and fiduciary duties by companies and corporations on a global scale. In short, these green issues are to be made enforceable through legal mechanisms and means on a worldwide level. The implications could be this – companies and businesses being forced to implement means that reduce the productivity of workers, such as reduced work hours, in order to reduce the company’s “carbon footprint”, which would in ways or other increase costs of living and operations and could serve as a potential way to shut down small businesses.

3. The "Great Reset" and the "social justice" agenda - the WEF has made it clear that this would involve setting development goals that will promote intersectionality and and "social justice" agendas, which potentially means the promotion of ideology and agenda of BLM through "development metrics" and steering the economy into one that would penalise those making decisions of faith, like what happened in the Colorado Baker case. [5]

On top of that, the WEF's David Sangokoya, head of the WEF's "social justice" initiatives, has said that under the "Great Reset", organisations are required to “bring people of minority communities” into the center and “build their power”. This could potentially mean forcing faith-based organisations to directly undertake actions that violate their teachings, values and creeds, especially those that do not subscribe to homosexuality and the LGBT movement and act against their consciences. It could compromise the freedom to adhere to and follow one’s faith and religious belief, a tenet in our society that we value.

4. The WEF has stated in a prediction an op-ed titled "8 Predictions for the World in 2030", with a video at the end of the page [7], that "nobody would own anything". These predictions were written by the WEF’s Global Future Council, which has as one of its stated mission to inform the strategic initiatives of the WEF [8]. That the WEF's Global Future Council could put this in an op-ed indicates that they envision a world with a communist-like system implemented globally, as after all the vision of a society where private property is abolished was started with Karl Marx, in his work The Communist Manifesto, and this was what the Bolsheviks did when they took power in Russia, leading to the deaths and imprisonment of more than tens of thousands of people. With this in view, allowing the WEF onto Singapore's shores would be akin to allowing the Communist International to hold a summit here.

As such, this petition calls on the government of Singapore 1) not to adopt the agenda of the "Great Reset" and 2) to withdraw from hosting the WEF.

Thank you.
