In light of potential changes to the consent decrees governing ASCAP and BMI, and:

• because these changes have the ability to impact my membership in my PRO, potentially without my approval; and
• because these changes may affect my ability to be paid, fully and transparently, for my work; and finally
• because my concerns weren't adequately addressed in comments made by BMI and ASCAP to the Department of Justice;

I'm writing to ask the following:

In whatever form your office is able, I would like you to:

• protect my PRO choice (publishers should not be allowed to withdraw my membership without my consent); and
• please also note that while I am in favor of negotiating better prices for my music, I expect to have shared with me all details of publisher-negotiated deals; and
• further, I hope that ASCAP, BMI and -- to the extent possible -- the Copyright Office, will actively seek to be part of a transparent system that ensures I am made aware of and paid for all uses of my work -- especially uses negotiated by publishers.

I appreciate all the Copyright Office does on behalf of songwriters, and all creators in general, and appreciate your consideration of this request.
