Dear Governor Ducey,

This petition is asking for you to: 1) classify "Gyms" differently based on size and structure and 2) open small fitness studios that can comply with CDC social distancing guidelines. 

I own a small group training studio (CrossFit Maricopa) in Maricopa, Arizona with my husband, Scott. When CDC Guidelines first came out for COVID-19, we adhered to social distancing, gathering and sanitizing guidelines. Despite our efforts to keep the public safe, we were categorized with big box "gyms" like Planet Fitness and forced to close our doors on March 20th. Since that time, we've received no support from State or Federal governments. We're aware of the SBA loans and grants but like many Mom & Pop businesses, have had no luck with getting funding.

In your Press Conference today, you handed small, privately owned fitness studios (Yoga Studios, Karate Studios, Personal Training Studios, CrossFit Boxes etc) a big blow. You gave no timeline for our businesses to open because they are categorized as "Gyms." 

Give Mom & Pop training studios a fighting chance to survive this economic downturn by allowing us to voluntarily open if we can meet CDC social distancing guidelines!
