Over the past year Lethbridge Gymnastics Academy has provided gymnastics instruction to over 100 athletes from babies to adults. This means that we need to expand but due to being in the "fitness" category we fall into a parking restriction that doesn't make sense for our business. In fact the guidelines that make sense the most for us is child care which requires a parking spot for each employee and designated drop off and pick up areas which we have.

A bit about us :  

We are a locally owned family business and we are passionate about the benefits that gymnastics offers to folks of all ages and abilities. Physical literacy is crucial in a child's development but is beneficial regardless of what age you start.

We know every family that comes into our space. We pride ourselves in being a safe space for everyone. We are anti-racist, welcoming to everyone in the LGBTQ2S+ community and believe that everyone can benefit from gymnastics regardless of body shape or size. Community involvement is extremely important to us.

We offer a high quality recreational program, competitive programs for all genders and with the expansion we can offer a trampoline and tumbling program as well. Our birthday parties are a blast and our summer camps are active, fun and welcoming.

Our challenge is that we fall into a category that doesn't truly represent our business. A typical gym or fitness facility requires that the attendee park for their entire visit which isn't the case for a gymnastics club. Here are some things that make us different:

• Our busiest times are when the businesses around us are closed. After 4:30pm and on weekends.
• With the exception of our grown up and me class, 99% of parents drop their child off because class are 90 mins to 2 hours long. Competitive training is 3-5 hours long.
• Grown up and me classes typically take place twice a week in the morning and on the weekend. With the expansion we would have 8 spaces available to us out front and our staff would utilize the street parking or parking spots behind the building.
• We are not looking to increase our current capacity of 50 people which we would never have in our building anyways due to coaching restrictions.
• As gymnastics coaches we are restricted by how many people we can coach at one time. In the expansion, with 4 coaches coaching at the same time and 8 kids in each class, that would be 36 people in the entire space.

We want to expand to continue to offer quality gymnastics instruction here in Lethbridge. We have the perfect bays beside our current one and we would love to continue to support our incredible landlords.

We are supported by the businesses around us and we are in the perfect location for summer camps with a park close by.
