Why this petition matters

Started by Gold

Nelson Mandela House, the west London tower block which once acted as the setting for Del Boy & Rodney’s home in Only Fools and Horses, is sadly set to be demolished.

When we heard the news at Gold TV channel we knew we had to act and preserve the comedic landmark that so many fans love to visit. We don’t want to stand in the way of progress, but there is something we can do to commemorate the towers connection to the iconic Only Fools and Horses.

We are launching a petition to have the famous west London tower block commemorated by installing a plaque or statue at the site, dedicated to the legendary British sitcom.

By installing a plaque or statue, generations of old and new fans across the country will still have a piece of the show that they can visit and enjoy.

Actor John Challis – aka ‘Boycie’ from Only Fools and Horses, has recorded a message in support :

“Nelson Mandela Towers, Del Boy’s home is a part of TV history! The lovely folk at the Gold TV channel have set up an online petition to commemorate its memory. Maybe a plaque, or a bench or a golden statue of Grandad. I’ve signed it and I hope you will too.”

We hereby petition the Ealing London Borough Council to acknowledge the history of Britain’s best loved show and install a plaque or statue dedicated to Only Fools and Horses at one of its most iconic sites.

Please join us in signing this petition to celebrate the famous tower and help preserve its comedic legacy.
