URGENT!!! CLARK COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT CURRENT and FORMER  PARENTS and STUDENTS:

Based on the schedule and information just released from CCSD (Reopening Plan), our music classes are in jeopardy. The new schedule only allows for 1 semester of any class taken next year - this includes AP, IB, performing arts (choir, band, orchestra, mariachi, guitar, theatre, dance, etc). Students need to be in these classes for a FULL year.

We MUST stand up to this injustice to our kids!!!! There has got to be another schedule model that will still keep our kids safe and enable them to have a full school year of each of their classes.

Music and Arts Education is essential for Social and Emotional Learning and is part of a well-rounded education for all students.

WHAT YOU CAN DO NOW:
- Attend the CCSD School Board Meeting through teleconference on Thursday, June 25, at 5:00 p.m.

- Call and email your school board member with your concerns - here is the link

Public comment may be submitted by email at boardmtgcomments@nv.ccsd.net by 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 25th. Please include your name and the corresponding agenda item number, if any, with any comments submitted. Written comments should contain no more than 300 words. Public comments received by the deadline will be posted on the board’s meeting website before the start of the meeting and noted for the record as each action item is heard by the board.

This proposal will be presented this Thursday to the Board of Trustees, so time is of the essence. They will vote on the proposal on July 9th. Flood their emails and phone lines and make yourself known in the comments on the live feed teleconference.
