Why this petition matters

Started by Katie Smith

Folajimi Olubunmi-Adewole, best known as Jimi, sadly lost his life at just 20 years old trying to save a woman who fell into the River Thames. The River Thames was searched for JUST 1 hour before it was concluded. His body was found at 6 am the next morning.

His friends and family describe him as someone who has always been selfless, kind and pure-hearted. He was his family’s breadwinner and always looked to serve others before himself.

Social Media has sung his praises since the incident for his act of bravery. He was an excellent example to others in the community of how we should serve and look out for each other.

He saved the life of a stranger, something that most would hesitate to do.

A memorial plaque should be placed in Postman's Park, a park dedicated to people who died saving others, to honour his bravery and act of heroism.
