Why this petition matters

Started by Jane Lim

We, the LGBT+ community, demand that the Malaysian Government legalise homosexuality and repeal 377A and 377B of Malayisa's penal code.

We also deserve the right to marry who we wish to. It's time to put a stop to all the discrimination happening. Someone's sexuality shouldn't be enough to throw someone into jail or get whipped. We want to change that.

We want to change this for the countless people in Malaysia. If this petition doesn't pass stricter laws would be introduced. More discrimination and hate crimes would happen to LGBT+ people. They wouldn't even be able to leave the house. If people are caught they will be sentenced to prison for up to 20 years and may also be whipped. Just like how two lesbians were caned for admitting to same-sex relations. And how a transgender woman was beaten and murdered.

Anyone and everyone can sign this petition. You don't need to be Malaysian. Because at the end of the day, we're all humans and we all live on the same planet. We're all a family.

It's time to stop the discrimination. Sign today.
