Why this petition matters
Started by Trenton Threatened Skies
New Jersey Senate Bill 2934 recently passed, creating a "Public Use Airports Task Force" to investigate "infrastructure initiatives and transit programs", and develop "recommendations for the growing aerospace industry". The 18 member committee does not include a public health specialist, an environmental scientist, or an urban planner, failing to acknowledge the detrimental effects of airport emissions on public health and climate change.
We demand that any change in transit policy be critically analyzed in terms of environmental and public health costs. We want the New Jersey government to be accountable and transparent.
