This petition is to demand that Facebook ban paid political advertising World Wide as it is subverting or has the potential to subvert democracy globally. 

Journalist Carole Cadwalladr speaks for the UK: "Facebook was used to subvert British democracy by a campaign run by *actual* prime minister. Facebook has failed to put in safeguards to prevent this happening again. Electoral Commission, ICO & DCMS all say elections are unsafe." 

Recently the Democratic lawmaker Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez questioned Mark Zuckerberg over Facebook political advertising in the US elections.  He failed to answer her question as to whether Facebook would take down outright lies if they were in political advertisements.

We want Mark Zuckerberg to be in no doubt that the public globally feel that political ads on Facebook subvert democracy across the world and must be banned now.
