Why this petition matters

Started by Alec Melman

As one of the few contiguous east-west routes in Bergen County, Degraw Avenue over the NJ Turnpike is used by countless cyclists and pedestrians every day and there is NO sidewalk or bike lane.

There is room to create a separated shared bike and pedestrian lane down the existing median without altering traffic flow or the number of lanes of traffic. Here is an example from Sands Street in Brooklyn (image 2).

Please sign this petition if you'd like a safe way to walk or bike on Degraw Avenue between Teaneck and Leonia!

*** PLEASE NOTE: The above image advocates one proposed solution, not necessarily the only or best solution. The end goal is for Degraw Ave to become a complete street that is usable by pedestrians and cyclists, regardless of which design is adopted to accomplish that goal.
