Why this petition matters

Started by Laurie Mazurik

Prevent the spread of COVID 19.

DEMAND PUBLIC HEALTH AGENCIES:

STOP THE SENDING OF SUSPECT COVID 19 cases to EMERGENCY DEPARTMENTS and FAMILY PRACTICE CLINICS, and

Work with the GOVERNMENT TO SET UP:

COVID 19 MEDICAL HOTLINES to give advice on how to take care of yourself at home, and when to seek medical care.
PLUS
SEPARATE COVID 19 ASSESSMENT CENTRES where medical staff can determine who needs hospitalization.

Co V2 causes a mild illness (COVID19) in the majority of people EXCEPT the elderly (mortality estimated to be up to 15% if >80 years old) or people with other disease such as heart disease or cancer, etc. The elderly and those with chronic illnesses make up the majority of patients who present to Hospital Emergency Departments and many Community Clinics.

Public health agencies and telemedicine providers are sending people with SUSPECT COVID 19 to the Emergency Departments and Community Clinics to be assessed.
Almost all are sent home and do NOT require medical care BUT they expose the vulnerable (and staff) to catching the virus.
NOW we are facing a looming shortage of masks to protect health care workers, in part, because of this.

Please sign and share this petition with colleagues, family, friends...everybody.

"Stay Safe. Spread Kindness."
