Why this petition matters

It is time for us to take into account the discrimination voters are facing. As our history portrays the ideas and opinions of those who aren’t white, inferior-we can't stay quiet any longer. We must speak up. The time has come to stop those harsh limitations and prepare to open up the voting polls. We can’t take away the rights of our people.

Polls are being taken away from lower income neighborhoods where majorities are people of color. In about 18 states they are put under a very strict photo ID protocol that wouldn’t be set for a white person. Not to mention lines are long and a huge inconvenience to them. Treating people of color this way is demeaning and discouraging to voters. Especially to new voters. This affects our voting in future generations as well.

Help us stop voters from being overly monitored in order to vote; from getting their votes rejected because of their ethnicity. Our society often forgets that when rejecting these people’s opinions you push discrimination behind basic rights. The community would become a better place with your support. We must stop setting minorities up to fail and give them equal opportunity to be heard and listened to. Everyone has a voice to be heard, so let's start by giving them yours.
