Eglinton West Now

We the undersigned, petition the Toronto Parking Authority, Toronto Police Board, Toronto Public Health, City of Toronto, Government of Ontario and Metrolinx for the following:

The Toronto Parking Authority take all the necessary actions to ensure the safety and security of the Green P Parking Lot #667 at 1531 Eglinton Avenue West.

That dedicated security guards be placed at the parking lot 24 hours every day, to respond to any security issues and conduct perimeter patrols of the area immediately surrounding the lot.

The Toronto Police Board fund and staff a dedicated neighbourhood safety unit with a team of police officers that specializes in patrols around the clock, seven days a week along Eglinton Avenue West.

That closed-circuit television (CCTV) systems be installed along Eglinton West to help in the fight against guns and gangs violence and other criminal activity.

The Toronto Public Health fund and staff a dedicated street team to provide clinical and social intervention supports for the vulnerable populations experiencing mental health and drug use addictions.

The City of Toronto increase the frequency of sidewalk cleaning and garbage bin pickup, including daily cleaning of the Green P Parking Lot and picking up the discarded needles in the neighbourhood.

The Government of Ontario and Metrolinx set up a new Small Business Assistance Program to provide direct financial compensation for small businesses. The fund will provide up to $30,000 in payments to assist businesses with their rent and other bills for eligible small businesses that are directly being impacted by the Eglinton Crosstown LRT construction.
