Although the trade of shark fins is banned in Texas, there is still one problem, shark is still being used on the menus.  Over 100 million sharks are murdered every year due to finning. The sharks are pulled onto a boat alive and their fins are harshly removed with a knife. After they are finned, they are thrown back into the water alive to drown. Shark finning also powers the shark fin soup industry, which unfortunately still remains in Texas. Shark fin soup is the main killer of sharks and needs to be removed from all menus! By outlawing this product, we could help protect sharks and could inspire more states to join in. Below is a list of recorded restaurants that have shark on their menu.
