MICHAEL D. GAINES DESERVES JUSTICE!

Michael Gaines has been incarcerated since 2003 for a crime he did not commit.  He was 18 years old at the time he was sentenced and charged with murder during the commission of a robbery -- there was no DNA evidence or fingerprints on the murder weapon that links Michael to the crime. They did find the shooter with the murder weapon and his prints were on the gun.

I'm fighting for Michael, asking that he gets a fair chance at having his case reviewed. I also want to bring attention to the prosecutorial misconduct and ineffective assistance of counsel. Michael's lawyer  did not fight to prove his innocence in this crime. Instead he used an ex death row inmate to intimidate his client as well as putting fear into his family that he was going to die if he did not abide by his rules. His lawyer took away his rights to go to trial although Michael wanted a trial, the lawyer said no because he was working with the state who had given the masterminds a 20 year deal. I strongly believe this is what lead to the wrongful conviction of Michael as well as the excessive sentence of Life without Parole (LWOP). Will you please stand with me and ask that all the newly discovered evidence be considered to prove his innocence.

Michael was framed by unreliable material witness statements, two of them was given by the masterminds of this crime and was given a deal. These two masterminds involuntarily drugged Michael and took him with them to the apartment where the crime took place. Michael's right to have a lawyer was violated by authorities, he asked for his lawyer and was denied a lawyer, they continued to bully him into answering questions he did not know the answer to.

Michael has been in prison for 20 years for a crime he did not commit.
