END THE CURFEW!!
As a collective unit, we Canadians, or more specifically, us Quebecois, have to take a stand for our rights and freedom that are being denied.
As Canadians, we have our Charter of Rights which enable us to live freely as law-abiding citizens. As it is stated in the Section 24 in the Charter of Rights :
<<24. (1) Anyone whose rights or freedoms, as guaranteed by this Charter, have been infringed or denied may apply to a court of competent jurisdiction to obtain such remedy as the court considers appropriate and just in the circumstances.>>
Unfortunately, when our freedom is taken away from us each evening and night, we need to demand respect for our rights!
We understand that we are in a global pandemic and that measures of safety must be kept, however, there is no scientific backing that the curfew helps keep the virus at bay. If there's at least one explanation as to why there is curfew, maybe we'd understand and follow. THERE IS NOT! STOP CONTROLLING OUR FREEDOM!
In fact, since there is less time to be outside, there is more overcrowding than ever, which causes the Covid-19 disease to spread multiple times more. Additionally, since there is no increase of Covid-19 cases in the region of Montreal, we feel the imposed curfew is doing more harm than good.
As spring arrives and the hours of daylight increase, we expect the numbers to decrease, as it has done so in the past at this time one year ago.
We plead for the mental health of our youth which is declining by the day as a result of the imposed curfew.
Mr. Première, we are looking forward to a time when freedom in Quebec is respected.
