A video recently surfaced of a student saying derogatory terms threatening LGBTQ+ and POC on campus. stated: "Send them all my f*cking way. I don't give a f*ck. I am done being nice to you all you f*ggots, all you f*cking libtards, all you f*cking n*gg*s. Send them on my f*cking way."  recently transferred to Slippery Rock and is an early education major. Students are angered by the president's response to the video. The president believes that the first amendment justifies being racist and what was said was not hate speech. Slippery Rock claims they do not tolerate hate speech but they clearly did not care in this case. Many people have emailed  about their concerns and their response from was it was not directed toward a specific group, has met with the attorney multiple times over this matter, and it is protected under the first amendment. Many students have already said they will not feel safe if he is permitted to attend Slippery Rock University in the fall.
