Hammersmith Bridge has now been closed for over 2 years with no plans to re-open despite its closure causing misery to tens of thousands of people each day. Numerous reports in the media have appeared outlining the twice daily hardships endured by commuters, school children, the elderly and indeed anybody who has the misfortune to need to cross the river, yet still next to nothing has been done to rectify the situation.

As Secretary of State for Transport Grant Shapps is ultimately responsible for ensuring the smooth running of our transport and that Hammersmith Bridge reopens and yet he continues to blame everyone but himself.

Enough is enough!

It's time to demand Shapp's removal from government and bring in a competent Transport Minister. This is not about political allegiances, it's about taking positive action to end thousands of people's suffering.

So please sign and circulate this petition  demanding the removal of Grant Shapps and ideally his equally useless side kick Baroness Vere too. Boris Johnson must then appoint a Transport Minister who makes the reopening Hammersmith Bridge  a government priority.
