Why this petition matters

Started by NYSTEEA

The New York State Technology and Engineering Educators’ Association (NYSTEEA) is proposing that New York State adopt the 2020 published International Technology and Engineering Educators Association’s (ITEEA), widely vetted “Standards for Technological and Engineering Literacy”(STEL).

Currently, our discipline’s New York State Math, Science and Technology Standard 5 is now twenty-five years old. So much has happened and changed over that period, it is essential that our instructional area have a set of standards that reflect, what our discipline has become while addressing the expectations of the 21st Century and also have strong connections to the MST Standard 5. The ITEEA STEL’s accomplishes all three of these important factors.

Because technology and engineering student instruction needs standards that are current, flexible, and easy to use, please show your support for SED to adopt the Standards for Technological and Engineering Literacy by signing this petition.
