Why this petition matters

Started by Adam Hosa

As of Feb 22nd 2021 Connecticut has announced a major shift in their allowance for vaccines as follows:

March 1: Expands to the age group 55 to 64
March 22: Expands to age group 45 to 54
April 12: Expands to age group 35 to 44
May 3: Expands to age group 16 to 34

While just Thursday prior:

“One source of frustration was the sudden change in vaccine strategy. Lamont indicated as late as Thursday that essential workers and people with certain medical conditions could expect to hear within the next week about when they will become eligible.

"What I can tell you is go to the CDC website, they have a very clear list of quote comorbidities which should be prioritized alongside the essential workers, we're going to work off that CDC list…" Lamont said at his Thursday news conference.”

While first responders, teachers and other workers of this sort are also allowed, the state has negligently decided to exclude groups including other frontline workers (food/services/etc) as well as persons with co-morbidities as defined by the CDC guidelines we’ve been fed to adhere to since the beginning of the pandemic, not to mention those with disabilities.  Persons with co-morbidities were ‘advertised’ on the CT governments own website as being up next in the next 1b phase up until todays shift. The state is now ignoring those that also need assistance, while even neighboring new york are allowing these certain persons to obtain a vaccine. We petition the state to quickly revise their short sighted plans and include those that are now just “an age” with no consideration of other factors.
