Why this petition matters

Kinder Morgan is over halfway through construction of the 42"-wide, 430-mile long Permian Highway Pipeline (PHP) - a direct threat to all forms of life. There have already been several spills, leaks, and other violations during the construction process, including spilling 36,000 gallons of toxic drilling fluid while boring under the Blanco River, contaminating wells and poisoning the drinking water of Blanco residents. This pipeline is an egregious assault on the land, water, and climate. It must be stopped immediately.

The PHP threatens to desecrate several sites sacred to the Carrizo/Comecrudo Tribe of Texas and other Indigenous peoples, as well as jeopardize the sole source of drinking water for 1.5+ million central Texans from Austin to San Antonio. Kinder Morgan is the same company behind the Trans Mountain Pipeline in so-called Canada, opposed by the Squamish and Tsleil-Waututh nations, the Coldwater Indian Band, and others. Kinder Morgan has no respect for Indigenous sovereignty, and zero concern about the lack of consent from communities they invade.

There is no acceptable re-route for this disaster pipeline. For the sake of Indigenous rights, the rights of nature, and preventing climate chaos, the PHP must be STOPPED. Sign on to tell the Railroad Commission of Texas to save our water by intervening and stopping construction of the PHP immediately. They must put people over profit, and help facilitate a Just Transition in Texas.
