We are trying to raise awareness to municipal, provincial, and federal governments for mental health and addiction. 

Over the last ten years our community and surrounding communities have seen an extraordinary uprise in mental health and an infiltration of drugs, gangs, and weapons.

We have a greater homeless population, mental health, and addiction issues per capita compared to neighboring communities with twice the population. The provincial government is aware of this yet here we sit with zero resources for what our community is facing!

What we as a group have witnessed in the last seven weeks is devastating. We have once prominent citizens squatting in condemned buildings. We have people living in the bush behind Walmart. 

Mental Health is at an all time high especially with covid looming over us with no resources for them.

The police are overwhelmed and frustrated. The hospital is over ran and can only provide very little support if the Doctor's are willing to see the people being brought in by the police. A great majority of the time the hospital refuses to deal with "mental health" which presents itself in many differnt ways. ADDICTION being one of those ways.

They took away our detox, we have no funding to help KDSB get subsidized housing livable again. We no longer have a direct crisis line in Dryden and half the staff were laid off. We have nothing for men in crisis they deserve a shelter just as much as a woman does!

As community members we need to push all levels of government to help bring in funding for resources we desperately need.

If we don't act now the upcoming generations will suffer the consequences of our inaction to speak out on their behalf and be left with a community in tatters that isn't safe for anyone!

We need as many signatures as possible so we can present this petition to the governments mentioned above. 

We're all in this together every signature is a step towards the change our community deserves and needs!!
