Why this petition matters

Started by Frances Trousdale

His mom had him when she was 14. He was sentenced to life when he was 16. 36 years later, Tray still sits in prison for a crime he didn't commit.

Tray is a scholar, a mentor, and a friend. With a Cum Laude degree in Applied Psychology and two published books, Tray has dedicated his incarceration to educating himself. He is a man of deep compassion, honesty, and intelligence. Upon release, Tray hopes to provide mentoring services to teens in his hometown of East Baltimore.

In addition to being innocent, no individual should be defined by the actions of their 16-year-old self. At 52 years old, Tray is a different man then the boy that was sentenced to life a long 36 years ago. Tray has grown and changed into a man that deserves freedom. A man that deserves a second chance. And a man that can give to society far more than society has given to him.

Join us in showing the Maryland Parole Commission who Tray is, join us in bringing light to the crisis behind bars, and join us in bringing Tray home.
