This petition is created to condemn the rape and brutal murder of Vera Uwaila Omozuwa; a 22-year-old 100-level student of the University of Benin, Edo State.

VeraUwaila was raped and killed inside a Redeemed Christian Church of God in Benin city.

She was reported to have gone to read in the church before the alleged criminals raped and used a fire extinguisher hit her head and left her for dead.

Rape cases are rampant in Nigeria. Unfortunately, the government has not been paying adequate attention to the issue.

Rapists are allowed to roam freely and because no real cases are being brought to book, these criminals continue to rape and main women and girls in the process.

Hours after Uwa's cases was reported, another 3-year old was reported to have been raped in Ekiti state.

In another heartrending case, 11men were arrested in Dutse, Jigawa state for gang-raping a 12-year old girl.

The public have since expressed pain and disappointment aout the rape cases and used different social  media platforms to demand justice for Uwa and other girls who have gone through such a lifetime pain and trauma.
