Every day people with life long conditions they will never be able to cure fight for their lives, homes and dignity to be awarded PIP by DWP. And every day they are refused under grounds such as 'well dressed', 'slightly overweight', 'went to a mainstream school's, but what do these reasons for being refused have to do with your condition you have been diagnosed with recently? Nothing. I was rejected for PIP the first time under those grounds, but the truth is, having MS doesnt mean I went to a school which wasnt mainstream and it certainly doesnt mean I should be the perfect weight, or not be well dressed. Some of the comments left on my refusal letter were and can be to others, very hurtful and to be honest, ridiculous. My point is to be ridiculed to the extent that a suspected 69 people have took their life because their benefits have been either refused or just TOOK way from them under no real reason whatsoever is disgusting, and we need to do something to make a change. I honestly believe if you have a diagnosis of a detrimental illness or condition which is incurable but even manageable we should all be able to live personally indepentall, whicbis supposedly what PIP is for without the worry of the whole assessment phase.
