Why this petition matters

Started by North Wicklow Educate Together Secondary School

North Wicklow Educate Together Secondary School needs your help. Three years after opening our doors and preparing for our first state examinations in June, it looks like we are going to be homeless from the end of April 2019. This has been confirmed today (15/11) as we have have received notice from KWETB to vacate the premises on 30th April.

This is a disgraceful treatment of young students by the State.
We need urgent answers from the Department of Education and Skills:
Why has building not started on the site they assigned to us and have repeatedly assured us will go ahead in answer to multiple Parliamentary Questions?
Why has no provision been made for a building to accommodate us to finish out the current school year? They have known that our lease would expire on the 30th April 2019 since before we opened the school.

Our students and staff deserve better. We ask you to sign the petition to call on the Minister for Education and Skills to intervene personally to
1. organise appropriate temporary accommodation for us and
2. start building our school with no more delays.
