On February 23, 2020, Ahmaud Arbery, a 25 year old black man, was jogging through Satilla Shores of Brunswick, GA. This is a predominately white neighborhood, so Ahmaud stuck out like a sore thumb to Gregory and Travis McMicheal. These two men (father and son) took it upon themselves to grab their guns, stalk and harass Ahmaud because he "allegedly" resembled someone that’s been committing break-ins in their area. Ahmaud tried escaping the preying men but was cornered by the duo and later shot twice due to a said "altercation". Ahmaud wasn’t the person who’s been committing these crimes. He was just guilty of being another innocent, unarmed black college student who had aspirations to go to the NFL. He was in the wrong place at the wrong time, reaching for his dreams. These two cold blooded killers STILL walk free two months later, and without expected repercussions. WHY you ask? Because of Gregory McMichael’s resume (but citing the citizens arrest law in Georgia). Please note that the law does not allow a group of people to form an armed posse and chase down an unarmed person who they believe might have possibly been the perpetrator of a past crime, then murder them for defending themselves. The law states “A private person may arrest an offender if the offense is committed in his presence or within his immediate knowledge.” They never saw him commit a crime, therefore, there was no reason for pursuing and corning this young man.  
I wish that someone who was an investigator for the DA's office for 30 years and a cop for 7, would have apprehended  a situation with far more caution, less deadly force , tactfulness according to the law; especially one that was pure speculation. I also wish this person who was trusted to be a pillar in the community had sense enough to set a  better example for their child, exhibiting what justice is and what it really means to serve and protect others. WE DEMAND Gregory and Travis be charged and prosecuted with the murder of Amaud Arbery, exhibiting the very justice that should have been applied when his life was ruthlessly and maliciously stolen.
