Prior to the early 2010s, EK43 was a relatively unknown grinder within the coffee world space; it being mostly a coffee/spice grinder. It was not until Scott Rao, a well renown coffee educator, used the EK43 in his café to obtain an unheard-of yield in extraction, that the grinder started to gain some light within the coffee world. This was further amplified by an Australian Barista Matt Perger in his 2013 World Barista Competition in which he used the EK43 to obtain, like Scott did, high Extraction yields that did not produce a bitter cup. This success made the EK43 an essential grinder used throughout Speciality coffee shops around the world today. 

Unfortunately, around 2015 Mahlkoenig made a decision to take the heart of what made the EK43 so popular, the burrs, and modified them to a less superior burr set. In doing so many customers around the world are not getting that original experience that they're expecting when they bought their EK43. This has left a gap in the market in which burr manufactures are attempting to recreate this Famous burr geometry. Whilst this is a good thing, this petition believes that its original creator could easily manufacture this old burr set and resell it as an additional burr set available on their online store much like their beloved Turkish burr set. Furthermore, scarcity of this fantastic burr set has left the market open to sellers selling less than ideal condition burrs for prices that far exceed their intrinsic value.
