The popular children's paddling pools in Weybridge and Oatlands are due to remain closed during the school summer break.

Elmbridge Borough Council claims there is not enough time between now and late July for them to do maintenance checks, cleaning and staff recruitment, even once Covid restrictions are removed on 21 June. The pools are a highlight for our children during the summer season and are even more vital this year as so many families will be unable to take holidays and face spending the summer at home.

As the local councillor for Weybridge I am calling on the Council's governing coalition to reverse this decision, which they have made without consulting. I believe it is more about saving money than practicalities. If you agree with me that they should make preparations now to open up the paddling pools please support this petition.
