The Chesapeake Crime Prevention Council (C.C.P.C.) is a non-profit organization that works hand-in-hand with the Chesapeake Police Department and the Chesapeake Sheriff's Office to educate and inform citizens of Chesapeake about crime, crime prevention and the Neighborhood Watch Program.
C.C.P.C. efforts: 1) Encourage citizens and businesses to participate in crime prevention and reduction programs. 2) Educate as to their roles and responsibilities in preventing and reducing crime. 3) Identify crime problems and support community based programs to address those problems. 4) Improve attitudes and communication between citizens/businesses and law enforcement officials. 5) Support law enforcement efforts in crime prevention and reduction.
Toward attraction of the highest caliber of officers and retention of those desperately needed resources, C.C.P.C. advocates, endorses and supports the City of Chesapeake offering regionally competitive compensation and benefits for our police department.
Community safety and security is a paramount goal and the Chesapeake Police Department has been excellent for the citizens in our city. With competitive wages and salaries, we can continue with that very necessary safety program.
