The horse is out of the barn and there is no going back. Cell phones and cell towers are here to stay. However, there is no reason not to have common sense health and safety precautions applied to an industry hell bent on profit.

AT&T and Verizon have paid off the FCC to streamline their ability to install 5G small cells everywhere, including in rural areas like West Marin in multiple locations - Their plan is to put 5G 'small cells' on Utility poles every 150 feet, potentially right in front of our homes in Point Reyes, Inverness, Stinson, Bolinas, etc. (***These 5G small cells only provide 5G internet, not telephone coverage) at an exponentially higher RF than normal wifi that you already have in your home. 5G is also known to better be able to track what you buy, where you go, etc. to sell our buying habits as data to corporations.

This has been AT&T and Verizon’s strategy in other areas. When 5G is installed close to homes and neighborhoods it will devalue property and significantly increase RF radio frequency radiation in our community. 5G 'small cells' exponentially increase our already high fire risk in West Marin. 

Help us to demand an Ordinance for Unincorporated Marin County to stop these 5G small cells from potentially being put on every 10th utility pole in our neighborhoods. An Ordinance would give us back local control and this is a good thing! Petaluma, Fairfax, Malibu, Calabasas, and many many other CA jurisdictions have had these Ordinances against 5G in place for years now by their local representatives.

Help our local representatives understand that they were elected to work for us and protect us, not the telecoms.

Chronic exposure to wireless radiation has proven biological effects, and has been linked to neurological damage, reproductive effects and cancer. Pregnant women, small children, and the elderly are particularly vulnerable.

Sample Letter to Marin County Planner and Supervisors:

I strongly request that Dennis Rodoni and the Marin County Board of Supervisors approve an Ordinance to stop 5G small cells in West Marin and to take back local control.

Current FCC guidelines are inadequate and only protect from thermal effects of radiation, in other words, the FCC's only regulation marker is when human skin actually heats up from exposure to RF microwave radiation.  

Peer-reviewed published science shows RFR can cause a wide range of health problems: sleep problems, heart arrhythmias, anxiety, headaches, ringing in the ears, cancer and more. Peer- reviewed published science shows RFR is harmful to the environment. Children, the elderly, and those already ill are more vulnerable. 

This Ordinance would protect our West Marin communities and residential neighborhoods from 5G, which requires a dense network of 'small-cell' cell towers, add unsightly equipment, devalue property, and increase radio frequency radiation (RFR) in our neighborhoods, in our parklands, wetlands, bee, and bird habitats. 

I request that Dennis Rodoni, and the Marin County Board of Supervisors sign an Ordinance that protects West Marin from 5G proliferation and provides local control. In West Marin this will protect community health and wellness, minimize community exposure to unsafe EMF radiation, and to protect our fragile birds and wildlife from EMR.

I support West Marin's ability to hold onto our local control when it comes to our health, safety, and our community.
