Why this petition matters

Started by Joe Peacemaker

The 1948 Palestinian exodus, also known as the Nakba (Arabic for "disaster" or "catastrophe"), occurred when about 700,000 Palestinian Arabs fled or were expelled from their homes, during the Israel war for Independence in 1948. There are arguments on who's at fault. Some fled from the war. Some were chased out by Israelis defending their new country. Some were ordered to leave by Arab leaders. Fact remains that many families were dislocated and left without a home.

I recently came across a history book called "Israel History Maps". Got it from Amazon here:  https://www.amazon.com/dp/1946575984 . The author says that this is an easy to read knowledge base and visual introduction to the history of the Jewish people in Israel. The reader can appreciate the complexity of over 3,000 years of history in a series of about 60 maps.

All this is great, but there is no mention there of the Nakba, which is very important if you want to get a real sense of history, and not one-sided story.

Please sign the petition that would as all Israel History related books and maps to mention the Nakba and it's significance, when discussing the 1948 war. I want to bring this petition to Congress and perhaps even make this a law. The road to real Peace are real facts of what happened. Thank you.
