The financial burden to massage therapists this year has been debilitating. We were forced to shut down for months and when reopening; had to add costly PPE measures and restrictions. The cost for licensing renewal has also increased to $150 from the original  $75. Many massage therapists are not back to work yet due to the pandemic surging in the major cities and it being unsafe. The cost for renewal will force many to lapse their licenses and leave the profession altogether. Renewal fees have been waived for many other licensed professionals in PA such a Physical Therapists and Physical therapy assistants. We ask that this fee be waived for this renewal cycle only due to the tremendous financial burdens placed on us this year from the pandemic.
