"Martialfinesse acadamy of hardknocks" is a not for profit organisation who has worked within the community and with various charities over the last 3 years providing a safe space and platform, delivering workshops/martialarts/specialist courses/referrals to work placements and college courses, from our community based gym which we transformed from a derelict building to the space we now use. 

We have offered the community a safe space, having such a positive effect in so many peoples lives, offering free and subsided services, access and referals to higher education, cross referals to other services, free events and workshops and promotion of community cohesion and advocacy against anti social behaviour. In essence helping the community by offering the services which have been cut by central and local government. 

With the current pandemic affecting almost every person/business/organisation. "Martialfinesse acadamy of hardknocks " has fallen by the wayside and been forgotten. 

Towerhamlets council have now demanded over £100,000 in business rates despite us been a not for profit organisation, the pandemic, and us making a positive impact in so many  peoples lives. While demonstrating this clearly we have been met by a unwillingness to listen. This is totally unfair when discretionary rate relief and charitable rate relief is and has been applied to so many other simular organisations.

We are appealing to our community who we have served over the past 3 years. To get behind us and show your support for our organisation who has had such a positive impact on so many people's lives! 

To show your support for us and to appeal to the common sense and goodwill of "Towerhamlets" council to waiver these totally ridiculous charges and let us be exempt from these very difficult and very unfair rates as they restart in 2021 and apply the relevant rate relief!
