Why this petition matters
Dear Sir/Ma'am,
I am Diljo Mathew, from Kannur, Kerala. This petition is regarding an issue faced by a lof people who use IRCTC eWalet.
As of now, we are not able to withdraw funds once deposited in IRCTC eWalet to the bank account. The only way we can use the money is to book a ticket. And, that's very disappointing to have our money blocked, which can be of great help in emergency situations, like which I am in now.
I had deposited my money in the wallet, hoping to make a tatkal booking fast and easy through the IRCTC website, which I couldn't get due to unavailability of confirmed seats. And when I wanted the money back so urgently, I wasn't able to withdraw it to my bank account. I tried contacting the customer care, but they were not able to help out since according to the policy, once the money is deposited, we can use it only for booking tickets.
When I did some searches online, I found that a lot of people have been in the same situation, where they couldn't make use of their hard earned money in case of emergency.
I hope that you understand the serious nature of this matter and request you to please help us out with the issue by adding an option to withdraw the money to bank account.
