Sam Boodram is one of the oldest living cultural icons of Trinidad & Tobago. He is a pioneer of Local Classical Singing and the singer of the Chutney music Classic "Lalana Khoose". 

Mr. Boodram is 80 plus years and his health is touch and go. He is still cognitive and we wish to break the trend of the Trinidad & Tobago Government which only honours cultural icons when they pass on and in other cases not at all.

Chutneymusic.com would like to formally request that Sam Boodram be given the highest national award; The Order of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago (formerly The Trinity Cross Medal of the Order of the Trinity) in Gold only for his yeoman like service in promoting Chutney Music throughout the world.
