Please help save Nahr el Kalb historic site by signing this petition. Nahr el Kalb is an ancient site dating back to 1500 BC, which has been listed by UNESCO in 2005 as Memory of The World. 

Nahr el Kalb is the crossroad of ancient civilizations and includes numerous historic inscriptions: Egyptian hieroglyphic stelae from Pharaohs including Ramesses II, Cuneiform inscriptions from Neo-Assyrian and Neo-Babylonian kings including Esarhaddon and Nebuchadnezzar II, Roman and Greek inscriptions, Arabic inscriptions from the Egyptian Mamluk sultan Barquq and the Druze prince Fakhr-al-Din II, a memorial to Napoleon III's 1860 intervention in Lebanon and a dedication to the 1943 independence of Lebanon from France.

Nahr el Kalb is unique because it summarizes all of Lebanon's history in one place, and it’s about to be desecrated and destroyed. The construction project will also destroy the natural environment of the site which is close to the Mediterranean and the Nahr el Kalb valley. 

Your signature will help to demand the halting of construction and bring public and international awareness to the importance of the Nahr el Kalb site. It will also help to raise visibility of this issue with UNESCO and ask for the preservation of the entire site and surrounding natural environment as Memory of the World.

 نهر الكلب فريد من نوعه لأنه يلخص كل تاريخ لبنان في مكان واحد ، وهو على وشك التدنيس والدمار.  سوف يدمر مشروع البناء البيئة الطبيعية للموقع القريب من البحر الأبيض المتوسط ​​ووادي نهر الكلب
