MAJOR LEAGUE RUGBY CLUB OWNERS - First off, thank you for investing in American rugby. But......we gotta talk about these names here. Gilgronis?! Giltinis?! Seriously? 

Stop. Just stop with this trash. Name your clubs something that fans will actually be proud to support, represent, and share with friends and family. 

This absurd naming-after-a-cocktail scheme does nothing to help American rugby, and makes it hard to view it as anything more than a laughingstock at this point.

Reach out to the fanbase and potential fans for help in naming the club. Let us feel a little ownership of our new favorite rugby team.

If you want to have a signature drink associated with your team, that is totally cool. I would not hesitate to proudly and loyally drink "the team drink", if it was just that. Something like, "Austin _______, home of the Gilgroni" would be totally acceptable. Austin rugby fans might embrace the weird, but don't give them a drink for a mascot, for christ' sake!

Let's rethink this, esteemed ladies and gents. Maybe mull it over with some signature cocktails in hand.

Do what's right by the fans. Help to prop up the greatest sport in the world, and stop feeding sleeping pills to the already slumbering giant.

The creation of this petition should never have even been necessary, and yet here we are in the madness of 2020.
