The City of Jersey City has plans to change the parking lot of the Mary McLeod Bethune Center (MMBC) to a park!! The Fulton Avenue Park located half a block away on Fulton Avenue between MLK Drive and Bergen Avenue) will become a parking lot. This is to accommodate new owners of the old Fulton Theater building located on Fulton Avenue and MLK Drive. It will become a synagogue. Stand with the Jersey City NAACP Branch #2086!! WE OPPOSE THE LAND SWAP!!

Allowing the parking lot and park to stay at their current locations make them available to all!! Promises to the Ward F community were made on several occasions to upgrade the Fulton Avenue Park. Green Acres funds were awarded to the city to maintain it. Restore Fulton Avenue Park.  WE OPPOSE THE LAND SWAP!!

A 1st reading ordinance will be introduced on September 11th at 6pm for the Mary McLeod Bethune Center parking lot. Remind City Hall these actions are not acceptable. Call 201-547-5150. Request to speak during the public speaking session. The public is allowed 5 minutes. A 2nd reading is on September 25th. Call Ward F Councilman Jermaine Robinson @ 201-547-5338. He represents Ward F and has only one vote.

TELL THE JERSEY CITY COUNCIL DO NOT MOVE MMBC PARKING LOT OR THE  FULTON AVENUE PARK!!!!
