¡1 MILLÓN DE FIRMAS PARA EVITAR LA MUERTE DE MEDIO MILLÓN DE COCHINILLOS AL AÑO!  

 

En Zafra (Badajoz) se está llevando a cabo un proyecto para empezar las obras del que será el matadero más grande de Extremadura. Registrado ya el proyecto ante la Junta, el macromatadero ha afinado sus principales cifras:

- Sus impulsores estiman una inversión de 17 millones de euros y una plantilla que rozará el centenar de empleados en pleno funcionamiento.

- La previsión inicial es sacrificar 142.500 cochinos al año. Esto es, 240 cochinos a la hora, a lo que hay que sumar 120 cerdos despiezados en ese mismo tiempo.

A partir del primer año de funcionamiento se irán matando más animales. Serían 213.750 cerdos en una segunda fase; 256.500 en la tercera y se alcanzaría la cifra tope de 468.000 sacrificios anuales, con previsión incluida de posible ampliación en los terrenos comprados en la dehesa municipal de Zafra.

Según ha anunciado el presidente, se prevé que las obras de construcción se inicien antes de que finalice este año, en 50 hectáreas de terreno, y que esté operativo en 2021.

Está promocionado por el Complejo del Ibérico de Extremadura (CIBEX), que agrupa a siete empresas: Señorío de Montanera, Cooperativa Ibercom, Estirpe Negra, Industrias Cárnicas Villar, Montesano, Grupo Alejandro Miguel y Campofrío.

DESDE LA PLATAFORMA STOP MACROMATADERO DE ZAFRA NOS OPONEMOS A:

- Permitir que se inviertan 17.000.000€ de nuestros impuestos para llevar a cabo el asesinato de más de 5.000 cochinillos al día en la primera fase. Tantas vidas diarias, terminadas violentamente por la insaciable sed de beneficios de una industria basada en el consumo de unos seres que querían y tenían el derecho a vivir.

¿Y EL EMPLEO QUE CREARÁ EL MATADERO?

Quizás antes debamos preguntarnos qué consecuencias tiene trabajar en un ambiente de tal carga física y psicológica. Estas son solamente algunas que han quedado evidenciadas por muchos estudios:

- Cortes y lesiones físicas graves;
- Ansiedad, depresión, disociación, paranoia y trastorno por estrés postraumático;
- Aumento en tasas de criminalidad, violencia doméstica, abuso de alcohol y drogas.

Desde ningún punto de vista podemos justificar este auténtico holocausto, que no solamente atenta contra el derecho a la vida de unos seres conscientes y capaces de sentir, sino que también pone en peligro nuestra salud personal, la de nuestras comunidades y la de nuestra naturaleza.

1 MILLION SIGNATURES TO AVOID THE DEATH OF HALF MILLION PIGS A YEAR! 
 
In Zafra (Badajoz) a project is underway to begin the works of what will be the largest slaughterhouse in Extremadura. Already registered the project before the Board, the slaughterhouse has refined its main figures:

- Its drivers estimate an investment of 17 million euros and a workforce that will touch the hundred employees in full operation.

- The initial forecast is to sacrifice 142,500 pigs per year. That is, 240 pigs per hour, to which we must add 120 pigs awake at the same time.

From the first year of operation more animals will be killed. It would be 213,750 pigs in a second phase; 256,500 in the third and the maximum figure of 468,000 annual sacrifices would be reached, with forecast included of possible extension in the lands purchased in the municipal pasture of Zafra.
As announced by the president, it is expected that construction work will begin before the end of this year, on 50 hectares of land, and that it will be operational in 2021.

It is promoted by the Iberian Complex of Extremadura (CIBEX), which brings together seven companies: Señorío de Montanera, Cooperativa Ibercom, Estirpe Negra, Industrias Cárnicas Villar, Montesano, Grupo Alejandro Miguel and Campofrío.
FROM THE ZAFRA STOP MACROMATADERO PLATFORM WE ARE OPPOSING TO:
- Allow € 17,000,000 of our taxes to be invested to carry out the murder of more than 5,000 piglets per day in the first phase. So many daily lives, violently ended by the insatiable thirst for benefits of an industry based on the consumption of beings who loved and had the right to live.

AND THE JOB THAT WILL CREATE THE SLAUGHTERHOUSE?

Perhaps before we must ask ourselves what consequences it has to work in an environment of such physical and psychological burden. These are only some that have been evidenced by many studies:
- Cuts and serious physical injuries;
- Anxiety, depression, dissociation, paranoia and posttraumatic stress disorder;
- Increase in crime rates, domestic violence, alcohol and drug abuse.

From no point of view can we justify this authentic holocaust, which not only undermines the right to life of sentient and capable beings, but also endangers our personal health, that of our communities and that of our nature.
