Why this petition matters

Started by Niki Dingle

We are the parents of Madison Dingle, who got knocked down by a car in Cumnor on 21/06/2019 She suffered serious injuries to her arm, leg and face and will be having on going treatments for the next 6/7 years.... Also a 13 yr old boy was knocked off his bike (approx 18 months ago) on way back from school, and a resident suffered an injury mid way on the hill approx 14 months ago. Another boy was knocked off his bike approx 5 yrs ago with minor injuries and a lady on her motorcycle with arm injuries last year....

This wouldn’t have happened if there was a crossing!! The population in Cumnor has grown enormously with the new developments, houses and care homes...  So it would be great if something good can come out of this accident!

3 schools use this busy road set at 40mph...

We’re proposing a petition to get the speed On all of Cumnor Hill and Oxford Rd to be reduced down to 30mph and also a Pelican/Pedestrian crossing Kimmeridge/Chawley Lane....

This has been tried for before as lots of parents are backing this but as there hadn’t been any injuries or deaths recorded it didn’t happen....

Well it has happened now and we’re lucky and blessed our daughter is still here...

We are talking for us and the rest of Cumnor.....

lets get signing!!!! Cumnor and the parish of Cumnor is a wonderful community !! We can do this .......
