Why this petition matters

Started by Dennis Turner

We seek to have September 11 recognized as a federal holiday. Congress has designated September 11 as a day of Observance, officially known as Patriot’s day. This designation is not nearly enough. September 11 deserves full recognition as a Federal Holiday. We must demand the U.S. House of Representatives and The U.S. Senate take immediate action upon this resolution. We encourage the President of the United States to fully support our resolution. The terrorist attacks were coordinated by Al -Queda against all American people. Those acts cost two thousand nine hundred and seventy-seven innocent American lives and in excess of six thousand injured. All Americans and citizens of the world were emotionally affected. We must never forget the heroic acts of so many whom worked selfishly to save many lives on that day. Their sacrifices should be honored by future generations of Americans. Never to be forgotten, forever to be honored.
