Michigan was once a part the French colony of New France. Then after the 7 Years War, the British took a lot of the land from New French, including Michigan. Then at some point the Act of Quebec happened the Michigan was part of Quebec (again?) And then I guess a French Indian war happened and then Amercian took it.

America stole Michigan.
