Malaysia's Religious Affairs Minister Zulkifli Mohamad recently issued a Facebook statement,  authorizing religious officials to enforce action against transgender individuals. Zulkifli encourages a 'Full License' to Arrest and Educate transgender people by sending them to 're-education' camps. 

Transgender people are no different than cisgenders. Countless studies have shown that being transgender is a natural hormonal phenomenon that is not a disease to be “treated”. They pose no harm to society and should be allowed to live their life freely. Sending them to “re-education camps” is analogous to China’s treatment of Muslims, something all Malaysians are aware of and condemn. Let us not be hypocrites.
