Bernardo Palacios-Carbajal, 22, was shot and killed by police officers on May 23rd. Bernardo was fleeing from police when an officer caught up to him, there was a confrontation then shots were fired. The news articles are now bringing up Bernardo's past in order to discredit him as an individual, but since when are police the judge and jury? If Bernardo had in fact committed a crime that night, he should have been arrested accordingly and brought to trial, instead, he was killed by not one, but MULTIPLE officers.

We demand the release of the body cam footage and accountability for the murder of Bernardo Palacios along with an explanation as to why multiple officers executed him when they did not know if he had a weapon or not. If the body cam footage shows that Bernardo was wrongfully killed by your police officers, ALL officers involved must face consequences for this murder in order to provide his family with justice and prevent further cops from committing brutal acts of violence against our communities.

In addition, we demand that we start providing more support towards community efforts and organizations outside of the police forces in order to prevent police brutality and violence in the future.
