Our beautiful footbridge, which links Solent View Road, Gully Road and Seagrove Bay is threatened with being ruined by the insertion of railings along its upper surface by Island Roads.

For over a hundred years the bridge has provided a pivotal point of access for residents of the Parish and many holidaymakers - without incident.

Island Roads, understandably, take safety very seriously but on this occasion we feel that the perceived risk to safety of not having a railing on the bridge just has not been borne out by the thousands of crossings made on it every single year. 

Please sign this petition to show Island Roads that we, the Public consider the bridge to be a special part of the community and do not wish to see it defaced in any way.
